We are three parishes: St John the Evangelist Church serves the town of Carterton with St Britius in the village of Brize Norton and St Mary the Virgin in the village of Black Bourton.
We have a willing team of volunteers in each church involved with pastoral care, bible study, children’s work, eco church, etc. There is a newly developed benefice website linked to Churchsuite to facilitate communication.
We offer a four bedroomed house located near St John’s and close to local facilities and all the attractions of the Cotswolds, Oxford and beyond. There are good schools, public transport and health services.
We are praying for a Rector who will be:
- A worship and pastoral leader across the three distinct but complementary parishes.
- A spiritual teacher who can encourage an increased knowledge of the Bible and promote discipleship
- Someone who is willing to spend time in both town and village getting to know parishioners and who can lead us in making our churches vibrant places of worship, attractive to both existing and new members of the community
- A person who has a heart for outreach, to take full opportunity of the potential offered by the expansion of both Brize Norton and Carterton
