AS the Door was going to press the Cowley deanery was set to receive a visit from a prestigious visitor.
The Rt Revd and Rt Hon Lord Williams of Oystermouth (the former Archbishop of Canterbury) was due to be the key note speaker at the 60th anniversary of the ordination of the Revd James Cocke, the vicar of all Saints, Headington. The event, on Trinity Sunday (26 May) included a social before the service and a tea party afterwards, for James, 87, who is known as Jim and is the longest serving priest in the Church of England.
