After a turbulent week in the Church of England, the Diocesan Synod met for the first meeting of the new triennium on Saturday.
Earlier this week, Bishop Steven spent two days visiting Amersham and Wendover deaneries.
Statement in response to the Makin review, and the Archbishop of Canterbury's resignation, by the Bishop of Oxford, the Rt Revd Dr Steven Croft:
A vigil for peace, remembrance and unity was held in Oxford last night. Led by the Bishop of Oxford, the Rt Revd Steven, and Imam Monawar Hussain, founder of The Oxford Foundation, as co-chairs of the Oxford Interfaith Network.

The Diocese of Oxford will extend its commitment to mutual support following the success of its 2020 initiative. The diocese will allocate a further £1.5m to support the five Church of England dioceses in most financial need.
The June meeting of Oxford Diocesan Synod took time to discuss how we can best support children, families and schools. Members also considered a revised environmental motion for General Synod and the draft 2024 budget.
